Arda under Melkor's rule

Melkor won against the Valar and Aman armies! Don't ask how, he doesn't know either. But he's grown bored since then, so has begun sneaking into the Halls of the Dead (and other universes) and dragging people out. Not just Arda's dead, but the dead of other galaxies. Some living end up dragged over as well, just to spice things up. There are two of someone? Melkor was really really bored.

The other Valar are still around, but are working quietly and some (mostly Manwe) have reached out to drag people in as well, only they give a kinder incentive (which is up to the player and doesn't have to have an impact in game). Upon entrance to the game, players can decide who brought the character in. Or can just say they don't know and go from there!

What it says on the tin:

Morgoth's Ring is currently an invite-only sandbox with the potential of being opened up further in the future pending player choice.

AC: What AC? There will only be a bi-monthly (every other month) check in asking who you're still actively playing.

App: If you're bringing a character that no one else has in game, just comment to the Join list with the form, and request to join the comms. If someone else also plays that character, you will need to get their permission first. This means if you want to bring in a CRAU or AU version of a character already in game. See the page on duplicate characters.

Characters allowed: OUs, AUs, CRAUs, fanmade AUs, OCs. Just link to or write up a brief blurb of your character and put it where people can find it!

Game type: Survival/Horror Panfandom Sandbox set in the universe of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings/the Hobbit/the Silmarillion. If you can't be flexible and go with the flow, this isn't the game for you. There will be random bouts of destruction, sudden spurts of nudity (blame Melkor, he hates clothes), this might not be the place for you. Torture will be planned out a bit more than the rest, so everyone involved are on the same page.

General plot: Either join Melkor and become a willing or unwilling slave, or try and stop him by joining up with Manwe and the other Valar.

Events are mainly player-driven under the over-arching general plot of the game.

Is there a network? Not currently, but once it is brought up in game and worked into effect, communication devices of some sort will be handed out.

Is there a map of locations in game? Nope! This is because not all places ended up being built in this rendition. Characters are welcome to venture out from the starting location to begin mapping, even encouraged to if they are careful enough. Ruins can be found dotting the continent that remind characters of their version of Middle-Earth, if not precisely where they should be.

Current state of the game? Open to posting to the Taken Pages, and the OOC introductory post, but not open to in game shenanigans until we reach 20 non-Valar characters. There will then be a joint post, potentially with what Valar we have lined up by then, and the gates, so to speak, will be opened.

Rivendell- This is the general starting place for new characters. It will need some repairs due to having been brought from another dimension, but that's a good first project, right?

Angband- Bad, bad place of torment, but hey, that works for some people.

Basic human decency rules: Be kind, be considerate, and communicate. Basically, don't be an asshole, this game is for fun and in character shit should not explode into out of characterness.

Don't godmod/infomod unless given explicit permission from all parties directly involved.
